International Shipping Fee Calculation Rules

Using Japanese transportation routes as an example

Currently, BuyAnySee has a total of four international logistics routes to Japan for customers to choose from, namely: E-Packet, E-Express, Special Line Small Package, and Postal Parcel. All of these four routes are air routes.

    Calculation Formula for International Freight:

International freight of the package = First weight charge + Additional weight charge

Logistics Route

Explanation of Volumetric Weight Rules

Volumetric weight refers to taking the larger value between the volumetric weight and the actual weight of the packaged mail as the billing weight, and then calculating the postage payable according to the tariff standard. The formula for calculating volumetric weight is:
Volumetric weight (kg) = Length (cm) × Width (cm) × Height (cm) ÷ 6000
The measured values of the length, width and height of the mail should be accurate to centimeters, and the values below one centimeter should be rounded down to zero.

Example of EUB without Considering Volumetric Weigh:

The charging rule of the EUB route is as follows: the first weight is 50g, the first weight charge is $11.06, the additional weight unit is 50g, and the additional weight charge is $0.20 per 50g.

Package 1: The weight of the package is 40g. Since the weight of the package is less than the first weight, the freight of the package is calculated according to the first weight charge, and the freight of the package is $11.06

Package 2: The weight of the package is 520g. The first weight charge is $11.06. The part exceeding the first weight is 500 - 50 = 470g. The additional weight is 470g ÷ 50g = 9.4. The insufficient part is rounded up to 10. Therefore, the additional weight charge is 10 × 0.20 = 2 USD, and the total freight of the package is 11.06 + 2 = $13.06

Example of E-Express Considering Volumetric Weight:

The charging rule of E-Express is as follows: the first weight is 50g, the first weight charge is $17.08, the additional weight unit is 50g, and the additional weight charge is $0.30 per 50g.

The weight of the package is 2.5KG, and the length, width and height are 50 cm, 25 cm and 15 cm respectively. The volumetric weight is 50 × 35 × 20 ÷ 6000 = 3.125 kg. Since the volumetric weight is greater than the actual weight, the international freight is calculated according to the volumetric weight of 3.125 kg. The first weight charge is $17.08. The part exceeding the first weight is 3125 - 50 = 3075 g.      The additional weight is 3075g ÷ 50g = 61.5. The insufficient part is rounded up to 62. Therefore, the additional weight charge is 62 × 0.3 = $18.60, and the total freight of the package is 17.08 + 18.60 = $35.68

The calculation of freight for other routes can refer to the calculation methods of the above routes.

Recommended Logistics Solutions Based on Package Weight

For packages weighing less than 2kg, E-Packet or Special Line Small Package is recommended.
For packages weighing between 2kg and 5kg, E-Express or Special Line Small Package is suggested.
For packages weighing between 5kg and 30kg, Postal Parcel is the first choice.

Through the above unified calculation standards, we can ensure that the freight calculation for goods under different logistics channels is more accurate and reasonable, so as to provide you with more transparent and fair logistics cost solutions, enabling you to clearly understand the composition and calculation basis of costs for each shipment and safeguarding your rights and satisfaction.
